Shims & Spacers For Waveguides

Narda-MITEQ manufactures waveguide solid and laminated shims to bridge a gap between two pieces of waveguide. Solid shims are available up to 1" thickness.  For larger spacers, see our standard line of straight section waveguide components. 

Laminated (Peel-able) shims are adjustable shims available in 0.125" thickness with 0.003" thick laminations.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

Solid Shims:
Solid Shims, use flange face and hole patterns of the flange type selected. The thickness listed in the below WR size are the more common parts ordered but any…… larger size …..can be ordered up until the part should be made as a straight waveguide section.

Thinner sizes are available in these standard material sizes, 0.016", 0.025", 0.032", 0.040", 0.050", 0.063", 0.080" and 0.090". Typical part number like 90-121A-0.050-6-6 changes to 90-121A-0.016-6-6 for 0.016” thick shim. For any other custom sizes please contact the factory.

Laminated Shims:
Laminated shim material is produced by surface-bonding with a resin adhesive, individual layers of precision metal foil (.002" or .003") into sheets whose total thickness can range from .006" to .125".  The bond is made by heat and pressure.  

An optimal hardening of resin is obtained and the bonding agent is reduced to such proportions that in can no longer be measured.

* The standard model numbers above are the minimum thickness solid shims with most common flat flange.  However, these models can easily be altered for your needs by using the Model # code system to the left.

** Laminated Shims are available at standard sizes and can be adjusted by removing layers in 0.003" increments.  They are only available with flat flange faces.
